Thanks for joining me in this discussion about the opiate crisis. In the midst of our crisis treatment will be sought and the Methadone word get tossed around. After being on methadone for more years then I needed to in 2 different states I can now say I am clean. The true clean NO OPIATES IN MY SYSTEM. And that is an accomplishment that NO ONE CAN TAKE. BUT I had to change my mind about methadone.
I was born and raised in Tucson AZ where drugs are good and cheap. My dad is a retired police officer and my mom is PM for a big construction company so no I do not have a sob story as to why I started using. Pills is why. Let me say it one more time OXY PERCS are what led me to use. And the fact that well u really dont need to inject it to use it and then one thing leads to another and now I’m a junkie that wanted to get clean. So off to new Mexico I go. I got on methadone their and transferred back to Tucson when I felt I was mentally prepared. I went from 160 to 135 then all the way to 8mgs by decreases of 5 mg . I walked off at 8 mgs. And the past week 7 days have been nothing but a pure test to how badly I wanted it. It was beyond hell. And this is what the clinics do not care about. Not one time was I asked or told I can get off it. They see people as numbers not as the broken humans we have become. If you are kicking methadone and reading this, You got this shit! Wait it out and be patient. I am here to tell you that what you are feeling WILL COME TO AN END AND YOU WILL BE MADE WHOLE AGAIN.
If you are an opiate addict please please consider just kicking what your on and do not trade it for a LEGAL DEALERs (Methadone clinics) service.
Methadone is a poison and you only know it when u do not have it. Do not become a slave to the clinics. You are a number to them that’s it.
I will be adding my thoughts on how to reform methadone clinics later but I just needed to say this stuff now because I do not want anyone to go thru what I did.
